When is Date (4.0) coming?

Are you going to go on a “permanent” hiatus again?

Absolutely not (within the next year or without at least one ring on my finger). While I might not actively be looking at applications when I’m somewhat seriously dating someone, (in which case, don’t worry, there will be a header message about that above the form,) I’m also not going to close it down again without a full commitment. I’m going to continue having fun with this website and updating/modifying it for the foreseeable future.

Are you serious about having kids within 2 years?!

Yes (and that’s the upper limit). This is why I think it’s crucial we both know what we’re looking for in a relationship and are willing to spend the time and effort it takes to get to know each other over that timespan before starting a family. It’s also why I’m looking for someone who’s ready (emotionally and financially) to have children (ideally in California… but we can talk about that later). If you feel like that’s too soon to figure it out and/or get to know someone, that’s fine! I’m just one person and there are plenty more out there that might be a better match for you.

Why is your form so lengthy/intensive?!

I have a lot of questions/things I’d like to know right off the bat and I don’t want to waste your time or mine! Think of it as a mini first date where you don’t have to pay for anything or travel to meet me and you get to know shortly after if we’re a decent fit for a real first date or not. (Although you can honestly already figure most of this out from reading about who I am and what I’m looking for here. The form is mostly so that *I* also know that we’re a good fit.)

Are there any dealbreakers? Can you tell me about them before I fill out the form?

Honestly, there are a few… but they aren’t necessarily explicitly listed on the form. I did (briefly) have a dealbreakers link but it’s currently inactive. This is for a couple reasons but one of the main ones is that I want people to answer the questions honestly instead of just trying to give the answers they think I’m looking for.
